Humboldt Democrats Unanimously Opposes Measure F

Measure F does nothing to alleviate the City of Eureka's housing crisis. The ballot text of Measure F does not guarantee any fund for housing and has no commitments from a developer or property owner. It attempts to shutter housing development in Old Town by moving currently approved development to the old Jacobs School site and allow industrial and commercial uses in the middle of a South Eureka residential neighborhood. The Jacobs site is not owned by the City of Eureka and could not mandate any development. This would be a loss of  building 199 deed-restricted Affordable apartments that have received $45 million in grant funding to date.
