As Humboldt Democrats, we are committed to defending progressive initiatives that uplift our communities and fight for the equity, dignity, and civil rights of everyone -- united against this lawless Trump Administration and its fascist coup. When Democracy perseveres Justice prevails and Freedom prospers.

Brenda Pérez is a fierce advocate fighting for Humboldt County’s migrant and Indigenous communities on Wiyot land.
As Executive Director of Centro del Pueblo and a cultural bearer from Mexico, she was a leader in the successful campaigns for Humboldt’s 2018 Sanctuary Law and the closure of the Yuba City detention center.
In her work, she mentors Latinx and Indigenous students, and through bilingual media she amplifies immigrant voices. She led vital pandemic relief for underserved families and continues to build a more just community through the Rapid Response Network, Sanctuary Schools, and Arcata’s Sanctuary Farm -- providing free, culturally relevant food.
